Press Policy

A complimentary press pass will be extended to professional journalists and photographers who have been assigned to cover Aussiecon 4 for newspapers, magazines, television and radio stations, and new media outlets. Professional press representatives must submit a Request for Press Credentials in order to be considered for a press pass. Aussiecon 4 reserves the right to deny press passes to individuals or media organizations as it sees fit.

Press credentials will be issued only to members of the media and their immediate supporting staff (producers, photographers, sound personnel, etc.).

Due to the large number of freelance writers, photographers, and web site maintainers in science fiction fandom, complimentary press passes cannot be given to members of the science fiction or fan press. However, some Aussiecon 4 members who are writers for science fiction or fan publications will be deemed eligible for press seating at events, for assistance in setting up interviews with program participants and for using the Press room as space permits. Members of the fan press should submit a Request for Press Credentials before Aussiecon 4 to aid in space planning.

We are planning a press conference for Thursday, September 2, with the Guests of Honour and several committee members. Anyone who has requested for press credentials will receive an email invitation to the press conference.

If you have any questions about press policy or press coverage of Aussiecon 4, email Laurie Mann, Aussiecon 4 At-Con Press Liaison, at atconpress@aussiecon4.org.au.
